We want to feel safe in school, say teachers

As educators, our number one priority is the safety and well-being of our students. However, in recent years, the rise in school shootings and incidents of violence on school campuses has left many teachers feeling anxious and concerned.

It is crucial that we create a learning environment where students and staff feel safe and protected. This means implementing stricter security measures, conducting regular lockdown drills, and providing mental health support for those who may be struggling.

Teachers should not have to worry about their safety while trying to educate and inspire the next generation. We urge school administrations and policymakers to prioritize the safety of our schools so that we can focus on what truly matters – educating our students.
